Dani Ceballos has given a press conference today during the presentation of the renewal of his contract with Real Betis Balompié.

Renewing with Real Betis Balompié: “In first place, I’d like to thank Real Betis and my family for helping me to achieve my wish to continue here. I’ve never had any other intention rather than staying in Real Betis. My wish is to stay here for a long time.” technical

How did you do during these months of negotiations?: “I had a hard time during the first months. I think I managed it well and I’m really happy right now. I went through hard moments and that affected me but now I feel great, thankful to Real Betis and the technical staff for the effort to make me stay.”

Clauses in the contract: “I don’t know how the contracts of my teammates are or how much they earn. I want to give everything for Betis as I’ve always done. I’ll try to achieve goals with Real Betis and dream about a huge Betis.”

Did you see yourself out the Club?: “I’ve always seen myself in, I never saw the situation in danger. My wish was to stay where I am. I’ve always been involved and I’ve felt the support of my teammates. I am where I always wanted to be.”

Welcome from the fans in the last match: “When I came on I hear most of them clapping. People are free to express their feelings. I’ve always felt the fans by my side since I made my debut. I’m thankful, Betis fans are spectacular. I hope I can enjoy them for a long time.”

Contract until 2020: “I always wanted to stay for all the years of my contract which is four years longer now. It’s a satisfaction for me, for the Club and for all the players who have supported me. My wish has always been the same: staying here. It’s what I want and have.”

Did Real Madrid CF contact you?: “My situation has always been about staying in the Club. It’s nice to hear through the media that a Club like Real Madrid CF is following you.  It’s a big club, but I’m focused on playing here and making a good season.Now I have to bring joy to the fans, I want to stay here many years.”

How did you feel after the match against Villarreal CF?: “There were hard times but after match I was specially affected. I even had difficulties to sleep that night. Everything has been easier with help from the manager and teammates. Pepe Mel has been key, he has always thanked me for my hard work even in tough times. He is an important part for me being here today, he has taught me that this is a beautiful Club to grow.”

Now the contract is signed, will we see the best Dani Ceballos?: “I’ve always given my 100 %. I’m going to be the same, but working even harder. I need to keep working and playing, learn from my teammates and give the best I have.”

In which position do you feel more comfortable?: “The one I play with Spain U21 national team: as creating or attacking midfielder. I think my best skill is ball passing to the strikers and starting the plays from behind. If the manager asks me to play on the left, I’ll do it.”

Marco Asensio: “He’s got a great future ahead of him. He decided to play in RCD Espanyol, and I hope everything works out fine for him.”
