Martín Montoya has given a press conference today at Luis del Sol Training Centre. The right back, on loan from FC Barcelona, analysed the upcoming match against his former teammates.

FC Barcelona: “It’s going to be tough, we are playing against the best team in the world. We are going to give our best so we can give our fans a good time. We couldn’t do it in the derby, let’s see if we can this week.”

How do you feel in Betis?: “Every has treated me as if I had been here for several years. Everyone: players, fans, staff… everything’s been wonderful. The fans are great with me and I’m very happy. I’ve felt as part of the group since I arrived.”

Will you continue here next season?: “I don’t know, I’m only focused on playing. The clubs are the ones that need to talk. At first, I’ll be returning to Barcelona in June. I don’t know what the future will bring.”

Will you be surprised if the team changed several players?: “When they made a ‘clean-up’ at Barcelona the changed a lot of players, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this happened here.”

League title: “I want Barcelona to win it, that’s obvious. I’m defending Betis jersey, though, and as a player and professional, I want to play and win every game. I want to win this weekend. I owe everything to this badge and I have to defend it until the end. Let’s hope that Atletico de Madrid and Real Madrid lose so Barcelona wins the league.”

How do you stop Barça?: “If they play well, it’s going to be very tough, it’s the best team in the world. We need to be perfect to stop them. Then we’ll also need some luck.”

TRAINING UPDATE

Bruno, Digard and Vargas, out of Wednesday’s training session

Real Betis first team has completed this morning the second training session of the week. In this way, the team continues preparing the upcoming game against FC Barcelona. As it happened yesterday, Vargas, Digard, and Bruno have been out. All of them have worked under the supervision of coach Fran Molano. On the other hand, the session has finished without any other news in medical terms.
