The first stage of the preseason for Real Betis continues in Montecastillo. The men managed by Pepe Mel have worked again on the pitch under a scorching sun. The morning training will be completed in the evening by a bath and massage session, in order to rest the legs a bit.

Again, the ball and the physicality have been the focus in today’s session. The technical staff has organised different exercises in a small pitch and twelve minute matches.

These starting days of the gathering are useful to see the first details of how the team will be set. Pepe Mel is using the trainings to try different combinations and tests for the starting eleven.

Today, the day before the match against Athletic Club de Bilbao, Real Betis manager chose the following starting eleven: Adán, Piccini, Pezzella, Tarek, Varela, Petros, Digard, Van der Vaart, Portillo, Rubén Castro and Jorge Molina. Afterwards, Mel substituted Fabián for Petros and Bruno for Tarek. 

The only absence in the session was Álex Martínez. The player is undergoing a treatment under the supervision of physiotherapist Fran Molano.
