Maminov: "We are going to do everything possible to get through to the next round"

"We have seen the last few matches Betis have played, we know their strong and weak points", said the Russian coach

FC Rubin Kazán's second coach, Vladimir Maminov, gave a press conference prior to the match against Real Betis Balompié at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. The Russian team's coach expressed his surprise at the position Betis occupies in the national league table. Furthermore, Maminov analysed the UEFA Europa League qualifying round and the result FC Rubin Kazán needs to successfully tackle the second leg in Russia.

What are your thoughts on Betis?:  “We have watched matches Betis has played recently. And we have drawn our conclusions as to their strong and week points. Tomorrow we shall try to take advantage of their week points and to annul their strong points”.

Do you have any injured players?: “All our players are ready. All my squad is in good condition”.

Rondón's departure: “It is hard not having a high quality forward. Rondón's departure has created opportunities for other players in the team. They will have to make the most of it given the importance of the forthcoming matches”.

How will FC Rubin Kazán play tomorrow?: “We do not have a predefined style of play. We hope that the players understand you can switch from one system to another during a match. That is what we have been trying to achieve in this period of preparation. We shall see tomorrow”.

Pre-season objectives: “We have managed to get a lot of work done. We have got a lot of things done but there are some that need a little more work. The feelings and emotions of a debut match have to be put to one side when an important match like tomorrow's is just around the corner".

What would be a good score for this first leg?: “You can't and shouldn't predict the result. Suffice it to say that we are going to do everything possible to get through to the next round”.

The player Roman Sharonov also gave his opinion on the match against Real Betis.

A good pre-season: “This has nothing to do with the pre-season goals or who scored them. If a defender scores them it will be welcome. We are a team and we are all working for the common good”.

The return of the UEFA Europa League: “We have done our pre-season preparation and we have all worked really hard. Hopefully tomorrow, those players who haven't yet participated in the Europa League will get a chance to do so. Those of us who have been lucky enough to have played want to continue enjoying this great competition”.
