Ramón Planes, new Real Betis Balompié director of football
The Club signs a world-renowned professional in the field
Real Betis Balompié has signed Ramón Planes as new director football until June 2026. Ramón Planes Novau (Lérida, Spain, 1967) has developed a long and successful career that started in 1999 at CE L'Hospitalet. Since then, he has worked at Racing Santander, Deportivo Alavés, UE Lleida, RCD Espanyol, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Elche CF, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe CF -two spells- and FC Barcelona.
Planes is well-known for his work in talent recruitment and training, a profile that goes along the Club's philosophy about Youth teams and good football. Under his management, players such as Ansu Fati, Gavi, Balde, Pedri or Ronald Araujo started as professional footballers.
The board of administrators at Real Betis make a bid for a top-tier professional to help the Club achieve its targets.
