Real Betis signs an international collaboration agreement with Tokyo Verdy
Partnership with one of the historic Clubs in Japanese football to work and jointly develop corporate projects and social actions, as well as exchange experiences and knowledge in business and sports areas.
Real Betis and Tokyo Verdy, a team that plays in the J-League, the main category of Japanese football, have reached a collaboration agreement through which both entities will work together and exchange experiences and knowledge in different corporate areas. This new union between green teams, agreed during the last Real Betis Week in Japan, will allow them to strengthen common ties and transmit shared values.
Both entities will collaborate to expand their respective brands in Japan and Spain, will work together in different business areas, social and environmental actions through the sustainability platforms Forever Green and TOKYO GREEN, and in sporting events, as well as exchange knowledge about methodology and football.
Founded in 1969, Tokyo Verdy is one of the historic clubs of Japanese football, inherited from Verdy Kawasaki and Yomiuri FC, and has conquered national titles such as the J-League and the Emperor's Cup.
From the beginning, it was one of the Clubs that promoted the professionalisation of football in Japan and the creation of the league in the country. In addition, during these years it has played a very important role in the formation of football academies and in developing actions aimed at its community, values that it shares with Real Betis and its Foundation.
This collaboration agreement is the first that the Club has signed with a Japanese team and is part of the internationalization strategy launched by Real Betis within a strategic market such as Japan. In addition, it serves to bring together two cities such as Seville and Tokyo, closely linked by tourism and now by football.
Tokyo Verdy President Takaaki Nakamura spoke about the Club's goals in the framework of this collaboration agreement: "We are very excited to announce our partnership with Real Betis, one of the most important Clubs in Spain. Real Betis also enjoys great prestige in Europe for its exceptional social plans and we are eager to learn from its success. With this collaboration we set the goal of improving our 'TOKYO GREEN' initiative, launched this season. As Tokyo Verdy,
a pioneer in Japanese football, we are committed to establishing our standards of social responsibility among professional sports clubs in Japan. Based on the experience of Real Betis, we will strive to generate a significant impact in our community and inspire others to follow our example."
Ramón Alarcón, CEO of Real Betis, highlighted the value of an agreement with a Club that have great historical weight in its country and that carries out strong social work. "It is an honour to build new bridges with Clubs of historical importance in Japanese football such as Tokyo Verdy. We share values and projects that have an impact on our respective communities and with which we feel fully identified. In addition, we are both aware that football can be an important tool to improve our environment and we work hard on it. We want to learn from Tokyo Verdy's initiatives and its strategic approach. We are convinced that it will be a very satisfactory agreement for both parties," he said.
This new alliance is added to the one that Real Betis sealed last October with Raja Club Athletic, another entity of international relevance in another strategic market such as Morocco.
