Today Rubén Castro scored his 95th goal. The forward is going to make the number ‘24’ a legendary number in the green-and-white history and his crest celebration, although he doesn't do it any more, will be one of the most remembered by the fans. The player from the Canary Islands came in 2010, he had been around a bit in the world of football, he managed to free himself of the loans and signed for one of the great clubs. Rubén always believes in his chances, he knew the opportunity he was getting coming to Seville and his drive has made him a Real Betis legend and even though he wasn't expecting it he has done it. “Pleased with the record that hasn't been easy at all, and pleased to with my teammates who have helped me do it. It took me a lot to do it and I am really proud to have done it with this team”.
Historic: “It's a lot of goals and I really didn't think I was going to do it but over the years I kept scoring, I got close and it was within my reach. Today I was luck to have beaten the record”.
About the match: “The team found themselves two goals down that we were not expecting but in the second half we went all out for the match, the team had attitude which is the main thing and managed to keep us in with a chance to get through the knockout round”.
The second half: “The team did not give up on the match, we went out for the match in the second half. We scored three goals and if the match had lasted a little longer we would have levelled but anyway, it is all still to play for which is the main thing”.
