Adán: "It’s time to work hard, not to talk”

“We have to apologize to our fans and work harder for this not to happen again”

At the end of the match, Antonio Adán and Bruno gave their impressions, starting by self-criticism. The goalkeeper was the first to talk about the need to bounce back so the team can be at ease in the future.

Painful defeat: “Again, facing our biggest rival, we were not at the level needed. We have received a hard blow. We need to work with humility from tomorrow. It’s time to work hard, not to talk.”

How do you recover from an experience like this?: “Reminding ourselves that we are Real Betis Balompié, that we are great professionals, and that we are united. We have done good matches and we need to get the good vibes back to return to a positive streak.”

Match against Villarreal CF on Saturday: “The team is focused on Saturday but specially on the work we have to do from tomorrow. There’s a lot to do and to correct. I’m sure the team is going to start working hard for an important match like the one on Saturday.”

Bruno accepted the bad image shown by the team and expressed the confidence among the players to turn around the situation.

Defeated in Copa del Rey: “We knew that if we scored early in the match we could have had chances. It was the other way around, though, they scored just at the beginning. We are screwed, we don’t know what to say. We have to apologise to the fans. We have to  start working from tomorrow and focus on the next match. We are the ones that must that have to get out this situation and be as united as ever before. The team has showed before that we are united group that knows how to fight. Now it’s time to forget about Copa del Rey and focus on La Liga. I’m sure the next time we come here it will be different.”

Excessive score?: “I don’t know if it’s excessive or not. They have everything going their way and we don’t. This is going to change. We must doing it based on work harder. These are time for real men, not when everything is fine. It’s our duty.”

Psychological block: “It all goes together. A few weeks ago we were creating fewer chances, the rival was attacking more and still we won. Now it doesn’t happen. It could be seen in Getafe and today, too. It’s time to make self-criticism and recover because there’s another match on Saturday. We must go to Villarreal to win the three points and push because we have a tough calendar. We are here to lift the team up.”

Message for the fans: “There’s no need to send them any message; just to keep being as they have been. I’m not going to tell the fans what they have to do, they are always supporting us. They did last year in Second Division when we were doing bad. We lost today and we’re screwed. We suffered on the pitch. We must work harder for this not to happen again.”
