Darko Brasanac has addressed the media today at Luis del Sol Training Centre.

Victory against RC Celta de Vigo: “This victory is very important to us. We knew they could be a little bit tired because they have a lot of games between Europe and LaLiga, and we knew we could win. We got two victories in a row and we’ll try to win again at Bilbao. I believe we can make it.”

Strong in defence in the last two games: “Defence is very important for us. We were very good in defence against Eibar and Celta. Athletic is a very good team and we need to give more both in defence and in attack. The game is going to be hard.”

Two victories in a row: “I said it before, we just needed time to use the work we carry out in the trainings. Everything gets better after every game and every training. Now we are more confident and can play easier, without pressure.”

First goal with the team: “I’m very happy for it. The most important thing, for me and the rest of the team, is that we played well and got a good result. The three points are what we value the most. There are five games left and we can win some of them and get more points.”

Position on the pitch: “I like to play as an ‘8’. A number ‘8’ must know how to play in defence and in attack. I don’t know how is it said in Spanish but in Serbia and England they call it box-to-box. That’s my favourite position. I used to play in that position at Partizan and with the national team, and I feel relax there. I know what to do.”

Athletic Club has a day less to prepare the game: “Yes, but it’s just one day. It could mean something but Athletic are fighting to play in Europe, they’re at home and I think they are going to give everything to win. We also want to win and we want to have more points before hosting Alavés.”

Is this your best moment of the season?: “We all can give more in the future. Currently, I’m happy with my performances but in other games we could have done it better. All the players have room for improvement and we still have five games to use what we do in the trainings. We have good chances of getting more points.”

Do you think the team deserve to be better in the table?: “I think we deserve more points, that’s for sure. There three games, Deportivo, Barcelona, and Espanyol, in which we lost points in the final minutes. We deserved at least one point in Madrid, too. We played really well against Real Sociedad at home. We just need being more savvy and know how to close games like we did in Vigo the other day.”
