Durmisi: “We analyse our mistakes so they won’t happen again”

“I’m an offensive player, but I need to improve in defense if I want to be a top player”, says the Danish

Real Betis player Riza Durmisi has done a press conference today.

Good connection with Dani Ceballos in the game against RC Celta de Vigo: “Yes, you’re right. I think I communicated very well with Dani. He’s a really good player, he understands my way of playing and the runs that I make. I think it just comes naturally in the game. He’s a technical player and we have the same way of thinking.”

Injury: “It’s a long story. I was injured for many games and I had some problems in my knee. Then I went to the national team because I felt I was ready to play, but when I played with the national team and came back I felt something again. I decided to take a break and hope for my knee to recover. Now I’m back, feeling healthy and ready to play.”

Do you think you need to improve in defense?: “Of course. I’m an offensive player and I like to dribble, make assists, maybe a goal. We see that on the pitch. Of course, if I want to be a top player I need also the defense. That’s one of my focus points.”

Three points above relegation zone: “We don’t think about relegation. We are only thinking about improving our play, focus on our team. We try to get even better, even stronger. I think we saw it against Celta de Vigo. We came back 1-0 and kept fighting. We showed a great performance and a great fight. I think we are improving and need to keep focus on next game and not think about the relegation.”

Change of system with the arrival of Víctor: “I play the same system with the national team so I really know it. I think it fits me well because I can do more action on the offensive plays because that’s my strength. I think it’s also a very good system for our team. We’ve shown great pace and good performances.”

This week, again at home: “It’s always a motivation to win at home. This needs to be a fort. When the other teams come here, they need to know that it’s difficult to win at Betis stadium. They need to know that there are no easy points here.”

Adaptation: “It’s a really nice city. But my days are: I train, I go home, eat and sleep and the day is over. When I have time of course I visit the city sometimes, it’s really beautiful and there’s nice people. I really like it.”

Has Víctor analysed with the team the mistakes made in the last game?: “Of course, we try to analyse every single situation. When it comes to goals from corners we need to analyse to see what happened. We need to improve, of course. Three goals is a lot to receive at home so we’ll try to analyse the small details and hopefully we’ll improve.”
