Víctor Sánchez del Amo: "We’re facing a very competitive and dangerous in counterattacks team”
Press conference
Víctor Sánchez del Amo has addressed the media today at Luis del Sol Training Centre. The boss has analysed the game tomorrow against RCD Espanyol.
Piccini: “He has trained well, but he has been in pain during the week and has missed some sessions. The performance during the week is one of the foundations of this team and is key when making the call-up. There are players who are working really hard and performing well in that position. There’s competition in that position and we think this is the best decision.”
Betis fans in Catalonia: “We are always very thankful to our fans because we find a huge support everywhere we go. This is one of the trips in which we find more supporters, but there are always a lot of them, in every stadium. It doesn’t matter if it’s one or a thousand, we always want to give them a victory. Now we have this game against Espanyol and we have the extra motivation of getting a second victory in a row. Espanyol is doing great, they are in a good position in the table. If it’s in front of our fans, better.”
Felipe Gutiérrez: “It’s not done yet. It’s an interesting option for all the parties involved. In the positions where Felipe plays there’s a lot of competition. This is how the player and the Club understand it. There’s an option for a loan and we’re working on it.”
Use of VAR: “Of course. I’m for anything that may help the development of football. I think it would be a hell of assistance for the referees, they have a very difficult job, constantly under pressure. The big teams have more options to make pressure on this. We can’t avoid their mistakes, it’s impossible. We can amend them with work, as they do, but still they are going to happen. Helping referees is helping football, so I’m all in.”
