Talk on nutrition as part of the Heliopolis Residency Training Plan

The talk was given by the head of the Real Betis Nutrition Unit, Guillermo Gomez, the goal was to raise awareness among the youngsters of the importance of a healthy and balanced diet.

"Are we what we eat? Do we know what we eat?" Under this title a new session in the Integrated Training Programme for players at the Heliopolis Residence was held on Wednesday. The talk was given by the head of the Real Betis Nutrition Unit, Guillermo Gomez, the goal was to raise awareness among them of the importance of a healthy and balanced diet. To this end, in addition to discovering some interesting facts about the process of making some types food, the youngsters have discovered the properties contained in the menus they eat on a daily basis in the dinning room at the Academy Halls of Residence. The aforementioned meeting came to a close with a brief workshop in which they could discover the amount of sugar present in a sample of food and drink items.

 

The Integrated Training Program for players at the Heliopolis Residence hopes to influence the integral development of these young athletes whilst at the same time attending to whatever needs they may have now they are living away from home. This initiative is organised by the Academy management and Real Betis Balompié Health Services, who have named Juan Doforno, social worker and one of the tutors at the Heliopolis Residence, and Macarena Lorenzo, head of the Real Betis educational psychology unit, to head up the programme.
