This Sunday Betis B were triumphant against UD Melilla by three goals to one, in a match full of a variety of opportunities from all sides, but which ultimately swung the Heliopolitans way, thanks to two goals by Álex Alegría and one by Isaac, after an initial goal for the visiting team by Pedro Conde.

The game didn't start well for the green-and-whites as the visitors scored the first time that they got the ball close to the goal area. It was in the 4th minute of the game when Pedro Conde was successful in his one on one confrontation with Javi Montoya after making the most of a great pass from David Sánchez right in the middle of the Betis defence. Minutes later, Isaac replied for the Heliopolitan team with a shot from in front of goal, but it was saved by Jesús. Betis B tried to get closer to the rival's goal but they were kept well away by UD Melilla's defence. However, an interception was eventually converted into an opportunity which gave rise to the equaliser So the score was even. Varela assisted from the corner throw-in and Álex Alegría's shot at goal from the near post, found the back of the net. José Carlos already could also have scored in a very similar previous play. This goal did not stop the impetus of the Betis team, and Fabián nearly got a second goal just a few minutes later. Just before half-time the visiting team had another scoring opportunity, but Javi Montoya managed to stop Pedro Conde's attempt from in front of goal.

The green-and-white goalkeeper was once again the star of the show at the start of the second half when he intercepted a low shot at goal from Sufián. The two teams desperately fought for their second goal in the first few minutes of the second half, but it was Álex Alegría who came closest to success for the Betis team, but Juanjo stepped in to help the rival's keeper and prevented him from scoring. The rhythm of the game slowed down as the match progressed and for a while there was no clear dominant side. However, the opportunities kept coming. In minute 75’ Pozo saved a shot from Nacho Aznar from virtually on top of the goal line. Subsequently, Abeledo attempted to score, but it went over the crossbar. Marco Rosa, brought onto pitch at a late stage, set up a counter attack which was finished off with a goal by Isaac bringing the score to 2-1. It was in 81st minute that the Betis B’s put their stamp on the game, when Juanjo was given his second yellow card and UD Melilla were left one man down. Then, in the last few minutes Álex Alegría scored his second goal of the match to seal an important victory for the reserves; the second in a row.
