Juan Merino: “Cádiz is the best possible scenario for the start of the Liga”
"I want us to go out there and be really competitive; a solid, mature group despite our age, and full of determination to make it into the first team", said the green-and-whites' coach
Tomorrow, Saturday at 21:00 hours, Betis B will see the start of the official Group IV Competition of the Second Division B after their promotion last season. And their fist encounter will be against one of the most popular teams in the group - Cádiz CF. A début which, for the coach of the heliopolitan reserves, Juan Merino, represents an attractive challenge which they will face with "the intention of winning"
Renewed squad: “We wanted to rejuvenate the squad, to make it home-grown and competitive. Up until now the U18s have demonstrated that they are an integral part of the whole outfit. When they are not playing with Betis B, they may accumulate minutes on the pitch with the Honor Division”.
Hallmarks: “I want us to go out there and be really competitive; a solid, mature group despite our age and full of determination to make it into the first team”.
Objetives: “The aim is that in the near future we have players in this squad that are ready to play in the first team, and also to stay in this category which will make it easier for the players to adapt to any possible promotion”.
Competitiveness in Group IV: “Some of the teams in the category have a good base with aspirations of promotion, and other teams have plenty of enthusiasm, such as the reserves. It's a competitive group”.
First rival: Cádiz CF: “It;s the best possible scenario for the start of the Liga. They are a very solid team with lots of experienced players, and I have no doubt that they will be up for promotion. We are going with the intention of winning”.
Dressing room atmosphere: “They are looking forward to competing. They are aware of Cádiz's potential, but they also know that if we play well, we are capable of winning”.
Five players are out of action for the start of the league
For the remaining players, tomorrow Betis B will have their last training session before heading off to test themselves against Cádiz CF; a match in which Ismael, Marco Rosa, Moyita, Iván and Varela will not be able to participate, as they are all in the last recovery phases of their respective injuries.
