Oscar Cano: "UCAM Murcia is a football team with extraordinary potential"
"They have practically walked through their league group showing an insulting superiority over their competitors".
On Sunday at 6:30 PM Betis B will play the first of two matches forming part of the promotional play-offs to gain a place in the Second Division B. UCAM Murcia awaits them, a team that has had extraordinary results in Group 13 of the Third Division. In terms of their home games the team from Murcia only let six points escape them throughout the competition and they have scored 36 goals, only conceding 8.
Oscar Cano, the coach for the reserves, has talked with the club's media to analyse their rival in this knockout round which, if things go well, will see the green-and-whites fulfil this season's principal objective.
UCAM Murcia: "They are a team with extraordinary sporting and financial potential. In every line of the team there are players who have had a career in higher divisions. Bustillo, Gavilán, Tekio, Picó, Carrasco and many other players in the team are competing in the Third Division because of the ambitious project that UCAM has offered them. Everyone wanted to avoid being drawn against the team from Murcia, so they've got something".
Good League statistics: "They are a very consistent team. They have practically walked through their league group showing an insulting superiority over their competitors".
Are there any similarities between the current UCAM Murcia and that of last season?: "They still have some of the players but have managed to rebuild the team to suit the current needs and regain performance in accordance with their financial situation"
Could the pressure of the venue be decisive?: "I think at this point any detail can be decisive, but we will not know if playing at home will be decisive until the match has been played. I usually prefer to play the second leg at home because I know we're going to be surrounded by supporters who will give us energy from the stands; however, that depends to a great extent on what we are able to do at the Sangonera Stadium".
An exciting final straight in the league: "It was fascinating, rewarding and very exciting for those following the competition, particularly the way each and every one of the last matches played out. The fight has been a noble one and much has been learned both by the players and the coaching staff".
