Summary of the weekend's tournaments for the Heliopolis Academy teams

Betis U9 B, champions of the IV ADC Christmas Tournament in Estepona

Real Betis U10 A were the runners-up in the X U10 Tournament of the town of Pinos Puente, held this Sunday in the aforementioned town in Granada. The team coached by Fernando Cáceres lost by the smallest margin (1-2) in the final against Sevilla FC despite Mario's goal. To qualify for the final the team got through the group stage competing against Polideportivo Pinos Puente, CD Roquetas and AD Taraguilla. They then eliminated Málaga CF (3-2) in the quarter finals and crossed swords with Unión CD La Cañada in the semifinals (4-0).

 

Meanwhile on Saturday afternoon Betis U9 B were proclaimed champions of the IV ADC Christmas Tournament in Estepona after beating the host team, ADC Esteponense, in the final (5-0) with goals by Keury (two), Andrés, Gonzalo and Claudio. The disciples of José María Román ‘Lupi’ put in a meritorious performance in their tournament. Not only did they qualify in the group stage playing against CD Antonio Puerta and the team from Estepona, they beat Sevilla FC A in the semifinals (2-1) thanks to goals by Javi and Ángel.

 

In this same competition but in their respective category Betis U11 B also took part. However, Antonio Sevillano's lads fell just before the final when they were eliminated by Sevilla FC (0-1). This was a very close match which looked destined to finish in a tie when they conceded a gaol in the final minutes of the match.
