Real Betis U18 A triumphs over Sevilla Este (2-0)

Gustavo Sánchez's lads have brought home 13 of the last 15 points in play.

Real Betis U18 A beat Sevilla Este (2-0) on Saturday thanks to goals by Pepelu, who converted a penalty in the first half, and by the midfielder López, halfway through the second half, after 90 minutes of intense struggle on the field of play.

Not in vain was it that in the final stages of the first half did the match open up enough for there to be approximations on the rivals goal with any true danger. And so it was that in the 38th minute Hinojosa controlled the ball in the area and after turning on the goal his shot glanced off the post for a goal kick. Just two minutes latter came the piece of play that was to change the course of the match. Fabián tried to connect with Pepelu in the area but his pass was intercepted by a defender's arm which the referee penalised with a penalty kick. Pepelu himself stepped up to the spot and his inspired shot put the first goal on the scoreboard, 1-0.

After the interval, despite the Heliopolitan team's goal, the run of the match hardly varied from that of the first forty-five minutes. Betis U18 A maintained order and structure in defence, awaiting a new opportunity to widen the gap on the scoreboard. The opportunity arose halfway through the second half. José Carlos' free kick placed the ball in the heart of the area, where López appeared to put the ball away making it 2-0. Although both teams were to have several scoring opportunities the score did not change.
