Adán, Francis, Guardado, and Amat spoke after the game

Real Betis vs RCD Espanyol

ADÁN

A very complete game: “We had said many times that this team is growing. We needed time and stability to get confident and control the games, and today the team did it so form the first to the last minute. It was a very complete game. We didn’t concede chances in defence and we showed our identity in attack, but we can’t stop. From now, we have to start preparing the next game. We want to take this club where it belongs, and we are doing it step by step.”

Clean sheet: “As a keeper, you never want to concede goals. I knew we were in a growing process and that, if we didn’t find the balance between attack and defence, we were going to concede a lot. It’s also true that we have conceded most of our goals in four or five games. The rest, we have a normal average in LaLiga. We have kept many clean sheets in the season and that’s quite important.”

FRANCIS

Feelings: “It has been the dream week. Not even in my best dreams I could expect to receive the call of Spain U21, to play another game in this Stadium, I still get goose bumps every time, and, on top of that, score a goal that helps to keep the three points. You can’t ask for more.”

Goal: “I saw that Fabián stole the ball, I run forward, and he passed me the ball. I looked up and I saw Loren in the box surrounded by defenders. I thought about shooting but I slipped and the ball went even better.”

GUARDADO

Balance in the team: “We talked a lot when we had that streak of conceding many goals. We spoke about trying to get balance. Step by step, we found it. That can be seen in the results. The is also doing things really well in attack. We were strong today. We didn’t have that many clear chances, but the ones we had, we scored them. That’s the secret of football.”

Going to Europe: “We can’t run away from the dream. There is certain fear to not openly talk about Europe. We are creating that target, the stats are there. We have to keep dreaming. We’ll see what we can do, hopefully is that.”

JORDI AMAT

Real Betis Academy: “It’s surprising what they are doing because they come form down there and it0s always difficult to take that step. It’s exciting what they’re doing. It’s important to work on the Academy, to trust the lads there because we sometimes look outside and we have talent at home. Francis, Junior, Loren, and the rest to come. This is positive for the Club and for the team.”

Team strength: “We spoke before the game, we are feeling comfortable with this system. We are solid and confident. I think that can be seen on the pitch. We know how we play, how we understand each other and the relationship between all of us. We need that patience to play, to create chances and made good games like today.”
