Calderón: "I'm very disappointed, we lacked ambition"

The manager believes that the team was guilty of complacency and consequently they ended up losing the match

The manager, Gabriel Calderón stated he was "very, very disappointed by the final result. We had the match under control and we were winning with an extra man on the pitch. We lacked communication, we lacked ambition. We were playing a team who are fighting to stay in the First Division, but we lacked ambition in the second half and I was very disappointed".

The Argentine manager elaborated on this point, explaining that his team reacted well to the first goal by Almeria but after that they didn't. "We reacted after the goal and we went ahead with one more player on the pitch. The disappointment was that they wanted to turn the result around and we were compliant, we weren't hungry for more. Even when it was 2-2 I wanted us to be quicker and go for a win", he added. On this occasion do you think that it was an attitude at a specific moment in time that contributed to the rival being able to turn the result around: "wanting to do it and not being able to for different reasons has happened a lot to us, but we have never lacked attitude. I was very surprised today and I will be talking to the players because you can lose, win or draw, play well or badly but you have to give it your all on the field of play right up until the very last minute so that you win a match, not lose it. In this case we could have won".
