Real Betis Balompié wins the Trofeo Colombino for the fifth time (1-2)

The Green-and-White team controlled the second half

Real Betis took home the LI edition of Trofeo Colombino with two goals from Jorge Molina. The team came back in the second half and turned around the score after the goal of the team from Huelva.

Betis started off well settled on the pitch, putting up pressure on the rival. In spite of the first moments in which Betis was creating danger, the team could not finish its attacking plays.

The match had to be stopped for several minutes due a row between Rennella and Antonio Domínguez. Then, in the 28th minute, the goal came for the home team. After a set piece, Carlos Delgado headed the ball in. In the last third of the first half, there were more chances for the team dressed in white and blue, specially coming from set plays.

At half time, Mel decided to move the bench and introduced several changes. Bruno, Digard, Piccini, Cejudo and Jorge Molina came in. These changes spoiled the team forward, and created many attacking chances in the first minutes. After fifteen minutes, the goal finally came for the Green-and-White side. Fabián crossed the ball from one of the wings to Jorge Molina. The striker turned around nicely and finished with class to level the score.

In the following minutes, Betis controlled the game completely, with Cejudo and Fabián as the main characters of the attacking chances. The clearest one, though, came from a shot from Jorge Molina that hit the crossbar.

And it was again Betis number ‘19’ who scored to take the trophy home. A great play from Molina inside the box to make up the final 1-2. Betis could even score more, with a lot of great chances to do it so. Even Molina missed a penalty.

A great second half from Real Betis to take home the LI Trofeo Colombino.
