Once the General Shareholders Meeting was finished, Chairman Juan Carlos Ollero spoke before the media. He showed his happiness and talked about the steps to follow in the future.

Is this the night in which you are going to finally rest?: “I’m not going to sleep much because tomorrow early we need to go to LFP (Spanish Professional Football League), but I’m going to sleep well and sound. It’s a wonderful night because is the night of change for Real Betis, a change we hope will last for a long time. I hope this elected board will be able to cope with the circumstances and responsibility we have taken.”

Have you been under high pressure in the last weeks?: “We have held several meetings and we have studied several proposals carefully. We have been well assisted. We have decided what our consciences told us.”

Finally, the shareholders’ meeting has been held: “It has been a great meeting because it has been a free meeting, made up by Betis fans. This had not happen in a long time, and it’s going to bring consequences with it. Apart from the people who are in the board, real Betis has changed. Now we must work and accomplish with the responsibility we have.”

What would you tell all the shareholders who have supported this candidature?: “First of all, I want to thank all those people who have worked all this time in a way I can’t even explain. There have been many people who have worked hard to get the votes of thos fans who thought that their saying was useless, while in reality is crucial for the future of the Club.”

Support from the fans: “I had no doubt that the fans are the rulers of this Club. We want to be at their level. But finally the fans have spoken, no doubt about it.”

New members of the board: “I know all of them personally. Obviously, this are not my personal proposals, are the proposals made by the whole candidature. They are great professionals and many facets and opinions of Real Betis are represented here. If we work together I’m sure we’ll make it. This is a radical change for Real Betis Balompié.”

Will you open the door to the other contender, Manolo Castaño?: “I said it the first day I arrived. We have won, but we want to bring peace to Real Betis, and we won’t stop till we get it. We want to find peace and end this legal problem that surrounds Betis, and make a strong respected and trustworthy institution. We need to bring peace to this institution and we are going to search for it.”

Real Betis’ future: “I am sure this is a revolution in Real Betis. If we work hard and wisely in the upcoming two seasons, this is a true revolution. We will se a completely different Betis.”
