Real Betis Balompié and Joaquín Sánchez have extended the existing contract between them. The Green and White captain, a living legend, will continue at the Club until 2023.

Joaquín arrived to Real Betis Youth teams at 16 years of age. Since then, he has become one of the most important Spanish players of the last two decades. His fantastic football, commitment and love for Real Betis have taken him to a special place in the Club's history. In the 2020/2021 season, Joaquín became the player with the most games played as a Green and White.

Since he made his debut, Joaquín has played 451 official games with Real Betis, scored 61 goals and provided 44 assists. Also, the Green and White skipper is the second player with the most games played ever in LaLiga, with 600 appearances.
