Juanmi, first Real Betis signing for the 2019/2020 season

The striker signs until 2024

Real Betis Balompié and Real Sociedad de Fútbol have reached an agreement for the transfer of Juanmi to the Green and White club. In this way, the player from Malaga becomes the first signing of the team for the upcoming season and signs a contract until 2024.

Juan Miguel Jiménez López (Coín, Malaga, 20th of May of 1993) began his career as a footballer in the academy at Malaga CF. He climbed through the lower categories until he made his debut with the first team, aged just 16. On the 13th of January of 2010, Juanmi became the youngest player ever in the history of Malaga CF in making his debut and scoring. Also, in September of the same year, he became the youngest player ever in LaLiga to net a brace.

In January of 2013, he was loaned to Real Racing de Santander, where he spent the second half of the season. He returned to Malaga CF in the Summer and played the next two seasons as full member of the first team. His good performances drew the attention of Southampton FC, team that signed him in 2015. He spent on year in the English club before signing for Real Sociedad, where he has spent the last three seasons.

Juanmi has been capped with Spain national team U16, U17, U19 and the senior squad.

In total, Juanmi has played 254 in top-level football, scoring 52 goals and providing 15 assists.

With this signing, Real Betis acquires goal, versatility and good passing in the attack.
