The Algeria national team has pre-selected Kadir for the matches against Ethiopia and Mali

The Betis player, included in the list of 27 players pre-selected for the qualifying matches for the African Cup

Christian Gourcuff, the Algeria Manager, has included Foud Kadir in the list of 27 players pre-selected for the forthcoming matches against Ethiopia and Mali, the qualifiers for the Africa Cup to be played at the beginning of 2015 in Morocco. The French manager, managing the team since last July, knows the Betis attacking midfielder well, as both have pursued most of their careers in France, specifically the 11 consecutive years that Gourcuff managed FC Lorient (2003-2014).

So if Kadir is called upon by the national coach to join the definitive list, he will miss the league match against Real Zaragoza on Sunday16th November, as Algeria is to play Ethiopia on 14th November to then travel to Mali to play the last qualifying match on 19th November.

Algeria, mathematically qualified for the African Cup having won all four matches played to date and leading Group B, hope to repeat their great performance at the Brasil World Cup. Kadir's absence could add to that of N'Diaye, a regular feature in Senegal's international matches. The Senegalese team, second in Group G with 7 points, hope to gain their definitive ticket to the African tournament in the matches against Egypt (14th November) and Botswana (19th November). an event in which the Real Betis Balompié midfielder has all his cards marked to go.
