Marca celebrated its award gala this morning in Madrid; the President of Real Betis, Manuel Domínguez, and Javier Matilla attended the gala on behalf of the Club. The sports paper awarded the Club with the Puerta/Jarque Fair Play Award for the humane reaction by the Real Betis players last season at El Sadar, when a collapse of a stand caused a human avalanche on the pitch.

In the Gala, Ibai Cardena, accompanied by Antonio Puerta and Dani Jarque's mothers, presented the award to the president and Matilla who went up together to collect it. Anecdotally, the young Ibai when questioned about his second team responded that it was Real Betis.
