MATCH REPORT | A great beginning of the season (0-1)
A goal scored by Tello in the injury time gives the team the three points
Real Betis Balompié began the season with a smile after taking the three points against Deportivo Alavés. The Green and Whites were quite solid throughout the game and deserved to take the win. The reward came in the last minute with a strike from Tello.
Manuel Pellegrini chose an eleven with just one new face: Claudio Bravo on goal. Five minutes into the game, Betis had the first chance with a header by Joaquín that Pacheco blocked. The team seemed more comfortable than the rival on the pitch and kept attacking. Canales delivered a good cross that Iglesias did not reach by millimeters in the far post. Even better was the chance Guido Rodríguez had a few minutes later. The Argentine produced a great shot from distance that hit the crossbar.
The second half began with the first and last clear chance for Alavés in the entire match. Bravo made two sensational saves in a corner kick, saving the team. Betis replied with a great free kick from canals that also hit the crossbar. Moreno had the next one with a volley that went over the bar.
When it seemed all over, in the 94th minute Tello found the reward with a good strike from the edge of the box that went in by the near post.
