MATCH REPORT | Defeat at Balaídos (1-0)

Real Betis lost against RC Celta de Vigo

Real Betis Balompié got defeated today by RC Celta de Vigo in a game in which the Green and Whites deserved better. The locals got the lead soon and Real Betis had to play more than 70 minutes with one man less following Luiz Felipe being sent off. In spite of all the inconveniences, in a good second half, the team played well and deserved, at least, to draw.

The first began badly for Betis, as Celta took only nine minutes to score. Veiga gave the home side the lead with a good strike from distance. The Green and Whites reacted and had a rally good chance to score, but Marchesín denied Borja Iglesias.

However, things got worse son afterwards when Luiz Felipe was sent off in the 20th minute. Celta took advantage of it and create danger, although the only clear chance was in a free-kick to which Rui Silva responded really well.

In spite of being with one man les, the team completed a really Good second half, being fairly superior to the rival and having enough chance to, at least, tie the score. But Marchesín was a hero for his tea today and made three fantastic saves. Pezzella also had a great chance that went out by centimetres.
