MATCH REPORT | End of the season with a defeat (2-0)
The team did not leave a good image
The season is over. And it ended in a way that is the perfect example of the entire year. The team, better than their rival for part of the game, lost again in two isolated plays by Real Valladolid.
Betis started strong, with a few approaches to the goal in the first minutes. However, the first clear chance was for the home side, with a shot by Sandro that went just wide. The reply came immediately after with a sensational team play by the Green and Whites, but Tello also missed the target by not much.
Fekir tested the keeper in two consecutive chances. First with a long-range effort that Caro deflected. Then, with a free-kick that Cara also stopped. Even if Betis had controlled the first half, the home team took the lead just before the break in a counterattacked finished by Guardiola.
The second half began in similar ways, with Betis controlling the ball but unable to score. Loren had the first but missed it. In fact, Valladolid struck again. Plano finished another counterattack. The second goal seemed to fall hard on the Green and Whites.
The entrance of Lainez shook the match a bit, as the young Mexican was trying tirelessly. Nothing much, though, and Betis close the season with another loss.
