Real Betis Balompié said goodbye to the Europa League tonight. The team showed two faces. Terrible in the first half, the Green and White saw how the visitors scored two goals in the first half an hour. Lo Celso cut the difference to one goal before half time. In the second half, the team improved and tried until the end, but could not score. In the injury time, Niang closed the score. The aggregate score was 4-6.

The first approach to the area was for the visitors, with a quick play on the left that Bartra managed to deflect wide. Stade Rennais had started with the aim of attacking from the start, as the initial score favoured the Green and Whites. Soon, Betis began to have the ball more and this way came the first chance after a great play that ended on the right wing where Joaquín delivered a good cross to the far post. There, Guardado volleyed it but a defender cleared it.

The ball was for Betis, but the away team were pressing really strong, trying to steal close to the area. The clearest chance came, in fact, for Stade Rennais. A cross from Sarr took a deflection on Guardado an almost went in. In that corner kick, Bensabaini jumped higher than the rest and headed the ball in.

The goal spurred the away team forward, and Betis were struggling on the ball. In a similar play to the goal, Bensabaini again had the chance to score, but this time Robles saved. The first clear one for Betis came in the 25^th minute, when Jesé made a good run and shot, but Koubek deflected wide.

The Green and Whites side did not seem comfortable in the game, while the opposition were using what they do best. Actually, the second goal came. A fast counterattack on the left, with a long pass to the other wing where Sarr controlled and crossed to find Hunou alone in the far post.

The team kept trying in the final third of the first half, but the players were quite imprecise. The next opportunity was for Niang, who volleyed high a cross from the right. Bartra got close to scoring five minutes before the end with a header that went millimetres over the bar. It was the preamble of what happened a minute later, when Canales produced a great assist for the goal from Lo Celso, who had just to tap it in. Just before the whistle, Jesé had another chance but smashed his effort over the goal.

No changes at half time and the second half went underway. Two minutes in and Betis had the first through Loren, whose header went wide. The Green and White striker had another one three minutes later after receiving a pass from Canales, but Koubek blocked it.

Real Betis were now more focused on attacking and pressing higher. Canales made a fantastic personal play but found the gloves of the keeper in the end. The away team tried to lower the pace of the match, and did not launch counterattacks as easily as in the first period. In fact, they were not able at this point to hold the ball for longer than a few seconds.

The away team manage to get their composure back and had the ball close to the box. Bourigeaud shot from long range but Robles saved it. The next chance came for Joaquín, who tried with a left-footed effort that Koubek saved. Every time the game stopped, the away team wasted huge loads of time.

Betis kept trying, searching for the goal, but the tension was huge and the players rushed without control. In the 88^th minute, Emerson made his debut with the team, replacing Joaquín. In the 90^th minute, Canales tried from the edge but his shot Went towards the middle and Koubek saved. In the last second of the game, with all the Green and White players attacking, Niang made a counterattack and closed the score.
