MATCH REPORT | Mucho Betis at Mestalla (0-2)

Canales and Tello scored the goals

Real Betis got a great win tonight against Valencia CF. The Green and Whites completed a superb performance and dominated the game completely. Sergio Canales, in the first half, and Cristian Tello, in the second, scored the goals that sealed the three points.

Right after the kick-off, Betis wanted the ball and tried to control the pace of the game. Tello had the first chance with a long-range effort that went over the bar. Valencia scored soon, but eh goal was correctly disallowed for offside. In the 18th minute, after a great team play, Canales received the ball in the edge of the box, flicked it with his left foot and connected a volley that went in by the post.

A few minutes later, Sanabria had a great chance with a header to which Domenech responded superbly. The home goalkeeper was Valencia's best man on the pitch today, as he did several great interventions. The Paraguayan also had another opportunity a few minutes later, but he couldn't find the goal.

In the second half, the plot did not change much, as Betis were controlling the game, moving the ball around well. Fekir tried with a free kick that found a good save from Domenech. The keeper also denied Canales some time later. Finally, the goal came. Joaquín made an astonishing run leaving several opponents behind and assisted Tello, who scored after a slight deflection on a defender.

Before the end, Betis had more chances than Valencia to score. One of them was really good, with Sanabria as protagonist, but again Domenech showed up to save his team.
