A bad night for Real Betis Balompié at Benito Villamarín Stadium. The team was defeated by Real Valladolid, a team that took advantage of their assets. The away team got the three points thanks to a goal scored by Antoñito in the first half. The Green and White team tried until the end but was unable to find a way to have clear chances.

Real Betis had come on the pitch with energy, and half the first half in the first minute. An effort from Loren from just outside the box that went high. The team was trying to retain the possession and managed to do it so except for a couple of long plays by the opponent. Inui had the second chance of the game with a shot from the edge of the box that Masip blocked.

Around the 15^th minute, Valladolid got to box defended by Pau López, although with no consequences. In spite of the control displayed by Betis, the men managed by Sergio González were really tidy on the pitch and defending really well. In fact, in one counterattack, they scored. A fast play that ended with a cross to the far post where Antoñito showed up to beat Pau López.

Canales tried to reply immediately after with a free-kick to which Masip responded well. Just before half time, Javi García fell injured to the ground injured and had to leave the match, being replaced by Mandi. The Algerian took the armband and acted as captain for the first time as Green and White player.

The second half began with one chance on each side, none of hem truly dangerous. It was the beforemath of a good shot from Boudebouz that forced Masip to make a good save.

The best one for the team so far came from canals, but his shot was deflected by a defender. The team pushed harder and attacked with more insistency. Almost all the game was happening in Valladolid's side of the pitch but the away team was defending strong, trying to counterattack as only mean to get to the other half.

Time began to run out and the chances with it. Sidnei looked for his first goal as Betis player with a low effort from outside the box that found the gloves of Masip. Boudebouz had the last one with a good free-kick that went high.
