Francisco Molinero has given a press conference in the press room at Benito Villamarín Stadium. The right back explained how important is to win this Saturday against RCD Espanyol, that would mean the third victory in a row for the team. Molinero has also spoken about other topics.

Going for the third victory in a row: “We went in good form into the break. We are back to work and we know we have a difficult match in front of us, as they all are. Now we play at home again. After winning two matches in a row away we need to be strong at home now. We should look at the points we have, not a possible position in the table. It’s about getting points, nothing else.”

Another victory would take the team close to an European spot: “We need to continue going match after match until the end. All the matches are going to be difficult and important. We are working well, we just got two victories in a row away, which is quite difficult. Now we are playing in front of our fans against a direct rival. The match on Saturday is very important, we should forget what have we done so far. We need to get these three points, they are as important as all the rest.”

The group is basically the same as last year: “This is football, each season is different. Last year we achieved our goal in a brilliant way. Even if it looks easy is quite difficult to do that. What the team did was spectacular. There’s a reason why the Club wants to maintain most of the players from last year. If we look at the squad, there are many players that have already played in First Division, with a lot of experience, and they how this works. I think the purpose was to make a competitive team, and I think we’ve done that. Now we, both players and coaches, need to put all those pieces together. There will be moments when we won’t be as good, and we’ll need to be calm and keep working. When the squad and the technical staff work together, you get good results.”

Do you feel comfortable playing as left back?: “I’m always ready for the manager whenever he thinks I have to play. I’ve played as left back before because of the situation, it’s not new for me. We worked on it during the preseason. There’s no problem if I’ve got to play there. There are also other players, such as Varela, who has performed very well in the two matches he has played. I have always to be ready to play, regardless if it’s in the left, the right or as a goalkeeper –laughter-."

Dani Ceballos: “He is very mature for his age. In spite of being just 19, you can see that savvy, and self-confidence when he plays. He knows what he wants, he’s with us and trains at his 100 %. And the same when he plays. He’s focused on training and competing. I’m not the right person to talk about Dani. But as far as I see, he’s at ease, he only thinks about football. There are other people who should be in charge of this.”
