Real Betis chairman arrived this morning to the player’s meeting in Montecastillo. After greeting the technical staff and the players, Juan Carlos Ollero spoke before the media.

Arrival to Montecastillo and conversation with Pepe Mel: “We arrived early in the morning and we have talked briefly. We’ll meet later to have a longer conversation. My first impression, just looking at him, has been good. He’ll tell me later.”

New signings: “Real Betis has not signed a player in two weeks, but that does not mean we are not working on it. We are dealing with some players and their agents. They are difficult because they are expensive for Betis, maybe not for other teams. The negotiations are not easy, but I hope that we’ll have news soon about a winger and a striker.”

Dani Ceballos’ contract renewal: “As I’ve said, the main points for his renewal are done. There are still some small loose ends that should be closed as soon as possible. I don’t really understand his agents’ attitude when it’s all almost done, we should end this chapter.”

Is Real Betis interested in Osvaldo?: “Is one of the players we are interested in. He’s really good, but it’s difficult for Betis’ status. All options are open right now. Let’s hope we can make it work out and he can play for Betis. I think it’s good both for the Club and the player.”

Are you going to make an effort to bring him?: “I’ve been told that he’s the kind of striker that we want. That does not mean that there are others, but we really like this one. But it’s difficult due to our economic situation.”

Joaquín: “He is an ACF Fiorentina player and he’s happy in Florence. He has great contract for this year and the next one. We are not thinking about his return, it’s not the time.”

Discarded players: “They are training in Seville. They couldn’t be here because of our working methods. They will continue training in Seville under the supervision of our technical and medical staff as long as they need to find another team.”

Players out: “Sergio Rodríguez has left this morning. We are waiting for offers that the players like. If that does not happen, we will need to change our strategy because they are not part of the plan of the technical staff.”

Economic availability for new signings: “We will adjust to our possibilities, we are not going to try some tricks. It depends on the incomes that we could have as a consequence of our sales. We have got an idea, but not figures. It also depends on the players that could leave, as that could give some extra budget to improve the team.”

Pace of the membership campaign: “Luckily, it is going at an extraordinary pace. We can only thank the fans for their trust and loyalty. We will probably reach 40,000 today. That allows us to ensure that we will reach 42,000 or 43,000 season ticket holders, and maybe even 45,000. It that is so, we will be among the top in Spain, and a record for the Club.Let’s hope we are at the same level of our fans.”

Reception among the fans of the new Adidas kits: “I would see it has been spectacular, as the people from Adidas have said. The opening of the official store was an impressive event, the queue was endless. There were people buying shirts until 4 a.m. Another amazing response from Betis fans.”
