Ramón Alarcón, new CEO of Real Betis Balompié

The Board of Administrators have appointed him to led the growth of the institution as established in the strategic plan 2022-2026

The Board of Administrators at Real Betis Balompié have appointed Ramón Alarcón as new CEO of the Green and White Club. Alarcón, who was business general manager u to this day, will now be the Chief Executive Officer and will lead the growth plan of Real Betis within strategic plan 2022-2026.

Ramón Alarcón Rubiales (Seville, 1975) has been in charge of the business area at Real Betis since October 2016. In this period, he has undertaken a major restructuration of the different departments that are part of the Club. His main objectives were to multiply the commercial and ticketing income, provide a better service to the fans, and strengthen the Club's communications channels. Since his arrival, Real Betis have multiplied their revenue in sales and ticketing, going from 6 to 17 million euros and from 9 to 14 million euros, respectively. Once the pandemic ends, the Club have projected to have a commercial revenue of 23 million euros and 25 million in ticketing.

During this time, Real Betis have reached 70,000 members, including more than 50,000 season ticket holders, with a long waiting list. Real Betis Balompié's brand value is the one with the biggest growth in LaLiga, according to Brand Finance. The Club's digital area has also undergone a huge transformation, placing Real Betis as the fourth team in Spain in number of interactions.

The new CEO will coordinate all the areas of the Club. The new strategic plan, that will be presented before the shareholders in the upcoming general meeting, will mark ambitious targets for the institution, such as the strengthening of the sporting area and the development of the new Stadium as main vectors. For this, the Club will establish a direction committee lead by the Sports Director, Antonio Cordón, and the business director, Federico Martínez Feria.

Ramon Alarcón has a degree in Business Direction and Administration, and a post-degree by the Dublin City University. He has experience in companies such as Ayesa and Deloitte. Since 2002, he has worked in the marketing and communications area, where he has developed sponsorship projects in the San Sebastian International Film Festival or the rights management of artists like Camaron de la Isla.

He is also the director of the Master in Management in Sports Business Loyola-Real Betis. In sports, he has also been panellist at the World Football Summit, lecturer at LaLiga Business School, and spokesperson at the United Nations Climate COP 25.

He was board member at Real Betis Balompié between September 2015 and December 2020, and joined in as business general manager in October 2016. He is Real Betis Balompié shareholder and season ticket holder.
