Real Betis kicks off its second ‘Betis Week’ in Tokyo
For the second consecutive season, an official delegation from the Club will travel to the Japanese capital, to further expand the brand’s presence in the Asian market.
Seville, March 10, 2025. Real Betis continues with its international expansion strategy in different markets and, for the second consecutive year, will launch the 'Real Betis Week' in Tokyo.
The Club's International department will develop different institutional, sporting and cultural actions and events that, in many cases, will have the collaboration of Tokyo Verdy, a historic Japanese team with which Real Betis signed an international alliance a few months ago.
Institutional visits and actions with fans
On Tuesday, March 11, the Verdiblancos delegation will visit the Tokyo Verdy facilities upon arrival and will attend the training of its first team and will attend meetings with some of the professionals of the Japanese club.
In the afternoon, it will be the turn of the fans and the 'Béticos Nippon' fan club, who will be able to enjoy a digital Meet & Greet with a player from the Real Betis first team at a Spanish restaurant in Tokyo. In addition, the event will be enlivened by a flamenco show.
On Wednesday, March 12, the Real Betis team will make an institutional visit to another of the great sports entities in Tokyo, the Yomiuri Giants, a professional baseball team from Japan.
Training and coaching training camp
There will also be space for sports and training work with the youngest players at the Tokyo Verdy sports facilities. Real Betis, through coach Javier López Alonso, international coordinator of the Real Betis Academy, will hold a training camp on Wednesday afternoon, March 12, with the 22 children from the Japanese team's Football School. These sessions will continue on Thursday, March 13, with the 10 and 11-year-old youth players from Tokyo Verdy, and, on Friday, with the players from the under-12 category. Javier López Alonso will also conduct training for the Asian team's youth coaches on the same Friday.
Photo shoots in Tokyo
More focused on the Business area, Real Betis will carry out a photo shoot with official Club clothing, both sports and fashion, in the most emblematic places in the city of Tokyo on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 March, with some surprises that will be revealed during the next week.
First Real Betis Week Manga Contest
Real Betis also wants to get closer to Japanese culture and the world of entertainment with events focused on the Japanese public. For this reason, on Friday 14 March it will be organized the 'First Real Betis Week Manga Contest' at the Manga Dojo Tokyo between students from Japanese manga schools and professional artists. All of them will have the challenge of creating a manga cover with a Real Betis theme.
The winner will receive a shirt signed by the players of our first team. In addition, this cover will be broadcast on the Club's official channels and displayed on the Real Betis Tour at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. The event will feature the presence of Kunikazu Toda, creator of the manga 'Ryuji ? The dominator of football', which tells the story of a fictional player who came to Spain to embark on his footballing adventure and ended up wearing the green and white colours. This was the first time that Real Betis has appeared in the world of manga and will be able to continue thanks to this new event.
Sustainability workshop and J-League match
Real Betis will also be present at the J-League match, the main category of Japanese professional football, which will see Tokyo Verdy face Nagoya Campus. Before the match, in the fan zone of the Ajinomoto Stadium, a sustainability workshop will take place, launched by Forever Green and Tokyo Love Green, environmental projects of Real Betis and Tokyo Verdy, respectively. Through this action, participants will be able to make drawings using sustainable materials. Flamenco will also once again take centre stage with a show for all fans before the start of the match.
All these actions are part of the 'Real Betis Week' project, which has already visited the cities of Casablanca, Santiago de Chile, Miami and Mexico City. This international activation project was even awarded by LaLiga as the best in the First and Second Division at the IV Club Day held in Tarragona a few days ago.
