Match analysis: "We made one the best games of the season because Espanyol were not in a good streak but they out us under pressure.  We had to work really hard to take the match. We were better than them on the ball, we had more possession, I think we shot more on goal and we put on a decent pressure too. We also overcame that part of the game at the beginning when they did so many fouls. I'm very happy because this is a hard-worked victory because of the many difficulties we encountered throughout the game."

Penalty: "Usually I'm the one who decides who shoots them and I didn't say Canales to take it. I told to Gio because he scored the last one and he was doing good. It's a punctual situation and there's no more to it."

Rival's pressing: "You never know because those days when we are sharp on the ball, I prefer them to be press higher. We usually set ourselves well on the pitch, we have good players on the ball, the lads know how to move around. We have good mechanisms and the guys understand very well this aspect. We had today some magnificent plays from the back with high pressure. I want to watch this game again and specially those plays. The rival was very intense in the pressure. They made 13 fouls in the first half. Today we were great in that sense."

Joaquín's 500^th appearance in LaLiga: "I'd like to outline some players who were outstanding today. The first one is Joaquín. There's probably a correlation between the joy he transmits in his everyday that makes him play the wah he did today. He's an example. He's worked hard, had the ball, received a lot of fouls and was really committed. That's Joaquín, not only the guy who jokes around. A player does not play 500 games just because he is nice. It's because he loves football and enjoys it."

Match against SD Eibar: "If we won this two last games of the year, so far we did in one, now we have the other, it would be a wonderful year. The final rush we did at the end of last season to qualify for the Europa League was great. This year we had some difficult moments but, in general, the team keeps growing and improving. The players give the best version of themselves. They enjoy what they do. It's important to be backed by our fans. They need to keep trusting these players because the truth is they perform great, like today."
