Caro, Varela, Nono and Vadillo pass the first cut in the list in the 2014 Football Draft
77 players remain among on the list of highlighted youth players on the national scene
The 2014 Football Draft celebrated its second Technical Committee this year at the AFE (Spanish Footballers' Association) headquarters yesterday. At this meeting they selected the 77 footballers on the men's list who opt to form part of the gold, silver and bronze teams of youth football in Spain.
In the first list made up of 132 promising youngsters in Spain, Real Betis Balompié's representatives included José Antonio Caro, Francisco Varela, Nono, Álvaro Vadillo and Ignacio Abeledo. After the first reduction resulting in the new list of 77 players, seven for each position, four names from the Heliopolis Academy remain. Abeledo, a capped player with Spain's international youth teams, was the only member of the Club who didn't get through. Consequently, with the hope of being chosen in each of the different categories existing and forming part of the gold team resulting from the 2014 Football Draft Caro, Varela, Nono and Vadillo remain.
The chairman of the Technical Committee of the Football Draft, Iñaki Sáez, had a few words to assess the second meeting of the year, saying "it was a difficult choice". He also wanted to highlight that "the demand for Spanish football throughout Europe means that the first list included about 12 players who are currently playing for European teams".
Once again the best youth football in the world showcases its best values in the 2014 Football Draft, the awards for apprentices in Spanish football, which is supported at all levels of Spanish football (CSD, RFEF, LFP, AFE, AEAF).
