Next Monday at 12:00 pm the '1977 Champions' entrance will be unveiled. Tribute to Sebastián Alabanda and to the champions of the first 'King's Cup'. This is a new signage over the main entrance of the Benito Villamarín Stadium, known as the Glass Entrance, as approved by the Board of Directors of Real Betis Balompié after the death of the former historic player and board member. The event will will be attended by the President and the Board of Directors of Real Betis, as well as the champions of 1977. Real Betis Balompié wanted to pay tribute to the 20 players that won the first King's Cup and the three managers that lead the team in that tournament. This year we have lost two of these champions, the legendary Antonio Benitez and Sebastian Alabanda, who assumed the role of Director of Football after being relegated.
