Historic evening for Real Betis Balompié. The team won at Camp Nou against FC Barcelona in a game that had a bit of everything. In the first half, Betis displayed a great football and went to half time with a two-goal lead. In the second half, Barcelona pushed hard and score twice, both got an immediate reply from Betis. Messi closed the scored in the added time.

FC Barcelona started really strong with a high pressure on Betis. The first of the game was for Malcom, who shot wide. Betis replied immediately with a high shot by Lo Celso after a pass from Junior. After the first ten minutes, the game lowered its pace a bit, but there was still a lot of intensity at display.

Just before the 20th minute, Betis took the lead. A great pass from Carvalho to the back of the defence where Junior showed up. The player raised in the Academy set foot on the box, dribbled and shot with his right, beating Ter Stegen. Barcelona got really close to score five minutes later, but Pau López made a great save to Lenglet's effort. Betis got really close to score later, but this time Ter Stegen saved his team with a good save.

The team managed to do it so after the first half an hour. Again, a great pass from Carvalho to, once more, Junior, who delivered a low cross that found no shot inside the area. The ball to Tello on the other wing, and he produced a pass to the heart of the box where Joaquín sent the ball to the back of the net. Barça then tried to move their lines forward, but Betis tried to take advantage in counterattack. Loren almost scored but his strike went a whisker away.

Just after the start of the second half, the home team had the first, but Pau saved the shot from Vidal, who had just come one at half time. Two minutes later, Messi tried from outside the box, but he sent the ball out. As it happened in the first half, the home team had started strong, enclosing Betis in their box.

However, the advanced Barcelona were playing at this point left some open spaces and Betis tried to take advantage of that. In fact, Betis got really close to score twice. First, through Lo Celso, who sent his effort wide. Then, it was Tello who was denied by Ter Stegen. The keeper made a light touch that was enough to send the ball into corner kick. Barcelona, however, cut the lead to just one goal. Tello grabbed Alba inside the box and the referee pointed the spot. Messi took the ball and scored.

Real Betis reacted in the best possible way, though, as they scored just four minutes later. After a good play, a rebound fell to Lo Celso. The argentine shot with his right and beat Ter Stegen. However, again Barcelona scored, this time through Vidal. The play was revised by the VAR for a possible offside, but it was valid goal.

Two minutes after the goal, Rakitic was shown a second yellow card, leaving his team with one man less. In the following play, Betis scored the fourth. A good cross from junior was tapped in by Canales.

After the goal, the Green and Whites tried to lowered the tempo of the game through possession and did it so, controlling the final minutes. But the game was not completely settled when Messi scored in the added time. The goal was disallowed for offside, but the VAR changed the decision.
