Forever Green started its run in the fight against climate change with more than 50 actions and more than 50 organisations that joined the project

In its first 12 months, the sustainability platform strengthens Real Betis Balompié’s position as one of the most committed clubs to the preservation of the environment.

Forever Green celebrates its first birthday working to help look after the environment. With this sustainability platform, Real Betis Balompié have strengthen their position in the past 12 months in their fight against climate change.

Convinced of this commitment with the environment, the Green and White has measured its carbon footprint in the last three seasons, becoming this way the only LaLiga club that has verified its emissions during this time. These measurements include the impact of the business trips and the employees' commuting. With this data, Forever Green and Real Betis Balompié are walking towards zero CO2 emissions in future seasons. Beyond this commitment, The Cub, that joined The Climate Pledge, is committed to reaching climate neutrality by 2040, time before the goals set by the Paris Agreement.

The sustainability platform has carried out more than 50 actions in the last year. Among them, we can find the implementation of a fleet of electric scooters for employees ? and for fans in the future-; the creation of an EcoGarden in one of the most disadvantaged areas in Europe; or the creation of a volunteer organism for the actions made by Forever Green. The Club's own facilities have also been adapted in these months to reduce their impact in the environment.

In addition, important institutions such as LaLiga, the National Futsal League, the Spanish Padel Championship, and the Mexican basketball team Abejas de León have joined the environmental project launched by Real Betis Balompié.

One of the targets set by Forever Green is to be a loudspeaker for all those organisations and institutions that have joined or want to join the fight against climate change with concrete actions that could help inspire the rest of the society to be part of this mission. This way, the platform already has more than 50 companies. Also, 16 companies have become Forever Green action partners: Arus, Bureau Veritas, Ecoterrae, Ecogranja La Pradera, Ecovidrio, Empaquetados y Recuperaciones, English Connection, Eternal Energy, Fundación Cajasol, Fundación ECOLEC, Moovit, Lime, Kipin Energy, Patatas Arrebola, Play Station (Sony) y Wuolah..

As a result of months of hard work, Forever Green has been noticed at international level, with over one billion impressions and reaching 50 countries, according to data from Blinkfire and Kantar.

The sustainability platform has also taken part in the Climate Conference COP 26 recently held in Glasgow. There, Forever Green acted as an example for other entities so their activity, including sporting events, has the lowest possible effect on the environment.

The platform wants to keep growing by adding institutions and initiatives in order to increase the movement and multiply its impact in the fight against the climate emergency.

It has been an exciting year. 12 months of learning and working. An innovative sustainability platform that has placed Real Betis Balompié as one of the most committed clubs to the environment in Europe, showing that being green is not just about the colours of the crest, but the values of the Club.
