Positive things in spite of the defeat: “We have to take the positive out of each game. We played a good first half, even when we were down in the score. We didn’t stop playing, going on the wings, making crosses. We went into half time with a good result. We tried to go on, but it’s quite difficult against a team like this.”

FABIÁN

Match analysis: “The key was in the first 15 minutes of the second half. I think our first half was great, coming back against a great team such as Real Madrid. However, we lost control for 10 or 15 minutes and they took advantage of it. They have great players, it’s Real Madrid. We have to be happy with the work done by the team, we didn0t give up and tried until the very last moment. We were good today but we now have to take the three points against Levante to keep fighting up there.”

Team’s streak: “We did several things well. It’s difficult to be well for 90 minutes. This is the way and we have to go on. We are doing things right and I’m sure that keeping this way we are going to be up there.”

Match analysis: “The first half was quite good. We turned the score around when it was difficult and we scored two nice goals. In the second half they took advantage of two or three mistakes we made. It was hard to play well later. They pushed and they did it well. We were close to tie again, but we leave with a bitter taste, feeling we fought until the end and we got nothing.”

Mistakes: “We have to be very focused against these teams. It’s true that we later changed the system and it was useful. We have to think and look at those lost balls and moments out of concentration that we have at certain moments. We have to solve this. In general, the team has been well. We said it at half time, we were playing well. We have to go on. The team is in a positive streak and that’s important to keep fighting and dreaming.”

GUARDADO

Defeat at home: “It’s a strange feeling because you leave with a bitter taste. You feel like they score many goals doing almost nothing. I think it’s the same feeling we had in several games this season. It was a clear reflection of our season, we know what we lack. It paid a heavy price again today, specially in defence, and against these teams you pay a heavy price. We tried to face them with our style. That’s never going to change, but it couldn’t be this time.”

Lack of concentration in the second half: “You can never lose concentration against these rivals, because you maybe lose it for 15 minutes and you pay for it. It was very difficult after but we kept trying. However, that eagerness sometimes makes us leave spaces behind.”
