MATCH REPORT | Draw in the derby (1-1)

The game had three players sent off

Hard derby that ended with the points being shared. A match that was marked by the three red cards shown by the referee, all of them after checking in the VAR. Two for Real Betis Balompié and one for the visitors. Betis took the lead in the first half, but a late goal denied the Green and Whites of the three points to a team that played half of the game with one man less.

The first half was full of emotions. Seven minutes into the game, Betis hit the post. The team dominated the game, but the visitors had one chance after a mistake in defence that Edgar blocked on the goal line,

Montiel made a really ugly tackle on Álex Moreno. After reviewing it on the VAR, the referee sent the Sevilla's player off. Soon afterwards, Betis took the lead through an own goal. The forces levelled up before the break when the referee showed Fekir a red card.

Just after the start of the second half, and again after a VAR revision, Borja Iglesias saw the third red card of the game. The game became really difficult for the Green and Whites, as the team had to over the whole pitch with just nine men. In spite of that, the team did not concede clear chances. The defence responded in great form.

Unluckily, near the end, the away side tied the game with a great shot by Gudelj.
