MATCH REPORT | Real Betis lost the derby (1-2)

Loren scored for the Green and Whites

A bad night. Real Betis Balompié was defeated in an even and disputed derby, full of strange referee decisions. The rival scored early in the game but Loren equalized just before half time. However, the opposition scored again ten minutes into the second half. The team tried until the end but it couldn't be.

After the kick-off, Betis controlled the first ten minutes, and the first chance was for Fekir, who tried from midfield but the ball went wide. Sevilla started to advance and have chances. In this way, in a set play, Ocampos caught a loose ball inside the area and scored.

Betis went on to look for an answer, and Fekir almost did it. Mandi gave a back pass to the Frenchman, but his volley went over the bar. A lot of intensity on the pitch, but not many chances. Just before halftime, the goal finally came. A good cross delivered from the left by Fekir was headed by Emerson towards the goal, and Loren deflected the ball into the net. Before the end, Álex Moreno had a double chance, both of them deflected by Vaclik.

One minute into the second half and Loren headed wide a cross delivered by Álex Moreno.  But was Sevilla who took the lead again through De Jong. Betis went then with everything in attack but leaving open spaces that the rival could use to counterattack. Vaclik made a great save to a Álex Moreno's header after a sensational personal from Joaquín.

The captain, who had just come on, was elbowed inside the area, but neither the referee nor the VAR wanted to have anything to do. Sevilla also had a chance before the end, but Robles made a great save to deny Ocampos.
