Merino: "We haven’t achieved anything yet, but this victory gives us some air”

Bruno and Rubén Castro also spoke after the game

Real Betis manager gave a press conference after the match against Levante UD. Merino outlined the importance of winning the three points, but insisted in the necessity of keep on working.

Crucial victory: “We can’t relax, there are many matches left to play and, mathematically, we haven’t gotten there yet. We have to think that we can’t relax until it’s done. We are defending Real Betis colours and we need to keep going.”

Rubén Castro: “I’m thankful for his behaviour and compromise level; he’s a player with amazing stats. He’s giving us life. When we score and I don’t see who did it, I always think it’s him. He’s everywhere. In the trainings, maybe in total the players scored eight or nine goals and he scores five of them. He’s always in the right place, it’s a gift.”

Future in the bench: “We don’t know who the manager will be or which players will stay. We’ll be in La Liga, that’s for sure. It wasn’t easy when I took over the team, we went through difficult times but we are close to our target.”

Bruno also gave his impressions after the game.

Match analysis: “We didn’t play well, but when you can’t play, you have to run. We weren’t as good as we wanted to but we won and we need to enjoy that. We have 37 points. We would have liked to have them much before and play in a different way.”

The target is closer: “It’s close now, we’ve got 37 points and we have won the goal difference with most of the teams in the lower part of the table. We need to go on, I think it will be enough with three points more.”

Rubén Castro spoke for the Club’s official media as well: “the game was a bit odd. The team had confidence, we knew we would have a chance and we manage to score. These are three golden points and we have our target at our grasp. Today is a happy day.”

17 goals: “We keep adding. I feel good and I’m scoring quite often. Today, again a goal scored by me meant winning the three points.”
