Rubén Castro gets back to training with the group

Paulao and Vilarchao are also operational and under Pepe Mel's command

After a month and two days of injury time this morning the event that all Betis supporters were waiting for with bated breath occurred at the Luis del Sol Training Centre this morning. Rubén Castro, following an operation on his isquiotibial tendons on 10th October at the Fremap Clinic, started training again this morning on the green turf of the training centre. The player from the Canary Islands came out on to the training field this morning with a broad smile on his face and followed the exercise routine the technical staff had prepared for him. His desire to return to the field of play in league fixtures was patent. Despite the months of injury he has not lost his touch and with luck he will be back on the hunt for goals in and around our rivals' goal area. When the forward scored a goal in training there was a standing ovation amongst the spectators at the training centre who were eager to follow Rubén's evolution.

Whatever the case, it will take the forward a few weeks to get back on form; what was witnessed this morning was just an appetiser on a long road to full recovery which has been mapped out for him by the Real Betis medical team. He will have to scrupulously follow their indications. The best news of the day was also accompanied by the apparition of Eder Vilarchao and Paulao who also returned to work under Pepe Mel's command.
