Quique Setién.

Setién: "We have to keep going this way and keep being humble”

Press conference

Quique Setién has addressed the media at Benito Villamarín Stadium after the game against SD Eibar.

Positive streak: “If we look at the results, it’s obvious we are in a good moment. We are also having that point of luck that you need sometimes to win games like we did at Getafe. Today, we could have scored more goals, but we began with problems because Eibar did well. They are not an easy team but we are in a good moment and now we have gotten four victories in a row.  We are keeping a continuity in this sense and doing things well in these games. To be in this position at this stage of the season is something to be happy for. We are happy and excited.”

Growth and chances to go to Europe: “We can see the progression we’ve experienced in the last months. It’s true that sometimes we struggle to win at certain moments and other moments in which we don’t control the games, but we are in an ascending line lately. The players are getting that point of confidence and understanding of what we do. We are far more solid now. Today we created many chances against a team that usually don’t concede almost any chance. We are also in a moment in which the concepts are assimilated, a moment of sharpness, cleverness, and excitement. The mental state is crucial for anything in life. Now we see focused players in each training, they work with a huge excitement. We are backed by many fans who trust them. I’m sure they will forgive us if we fall. I hope we can keep this way, always considering that football is really difficult to control because in the same way we’ve won four in a row, we can also lose four in a row. Football is strange and difficult to understand. I prefer to celebrate at the end. We have to keep going and be aware of the difficulties we are going to find until the end of the season. The game on Friday at Girona will be really difficult. We’ll face what’s to come with the same excitement, the same will, and the same humility.”
