The manager addressed the media before the game against RC Celta de Vigo

Real Betis head coach Quique Setién has addressed the media today to analyse the upcoming game against RC Celta de Vigo.

First game at home: “We are all very excited. A club employee I talked to a few minutes ago told me that, in spite of what people may have told me before, nobody knows how the atmosphere will be tomorrow, with the new stand there are going to be more spectators than ever. For sure it’s going to be spectacular. It’s going to be unbelievable for the ones like us who are new. You can already see the excitement in the streets.”

Fans: “I know that our fans are going to win many points this season. It’s important to have your people supporting because we are certain that the players are going to give everything to make this work.”

Pressure and responsibility: “I guess that the feeling the fans have, the players also have it. We have to try to change the dynamic. Excitement is not incompatible with responsibility. We have to manage that excitement because we’ll have a rival in front of us.We are not the only ones playing, the rival is going to be a serious opposition like it Will happen in many other games. Then, there is the ability we have to develop what we work and try. Obviously, the easiness of the players and the support and confidence of the fans is crucial so the players can express what they have. That’s the environment we want to create on the field. If the fans give their support, it all will be better. We have to try to forget and eradicate what happened in previous years. A new era has begun. There are new players, a new coach, and a new idea. There are so many things to be excited about that thinking about a defeat after so little time could be a burden we won’t be able to get rid of. There’s always time to cry at the end.”

Work during the week: “We have watch many images of the game against Barcelona, things we did right and things we didn’t. We try to tell the players to eradicate things they have in their heads of their previous experiences. We try to get them in our idea and that they coordinate when attacking and defending. There are positive things from the game in Barcelona but, in general, I didn’t like my team. I recall good things we did in defence. We were good in that sense when we had to wait in the back against a team that is a specialist in these situations. The teams we are going to face are not like that. No other team has Messi. We have to be braver in the pressure, in leaving our side of the pitch and go for the ball and press higher on their side.”

RC Celta de Vigo: “Maybe there are different things, but they will try to play the ball from the defence and use a combined style. They make many touches to get to the opposite box. In that sense, we are quite similar but there also concepts we didn’t see in their last game. If they have watched our game against Barcelona they surely haven’t seen what we can do either.”

Durmisi: “He is a great player who didn’t play much in the preseason due to some muscular problems. In Barcelona, we knew that the defence was going to play a more important role, we opted for Tosca. Durmisi is fit and he’s a good player, he has overcome the problems he had and will play many games.”

Tello: “He’s better. He has trained without problems with the team the last two weeks. He hasn’t played a single game yet and has trained juts for eight days after an injury. It takes time. I’ll decide whether he plays, but surely he won’t be in his best version. He has been out for a month and a half, so he’ll take his time to be fully recovered and back.”

Will Javi García be in the starting eleven?: “They are all ready to be in the line-up. If you ask me, I think they all want to play. You have to know that I’ll never say here who is going to play because the players don’t know it yet. Nobody knows except for my assistants. The players will know when it’s time. I want them all to be expectant and believing that they can play.”

Camarasa: “He had a problem in one ankle in the last play of the game and has been training aside the previous days. He has joined the team today. He seems to be fine, I don’t think he’ll have problems to play. Let’s see if apart from being fine, I decide if he plays. We’ll see.”

Squad: “The squad is the one I have. If you give me the option of choosing 25 players, the ones I prefer, some the ones I have would stay and some others wouldn’t. Ask any coach. I work with what I have. And I’m pleased with what I have, really pleased. I think they are great lads regarding commitment and work. I have never seen a team that runs so much. The other day, In Barcelona, their defensive effort was magnificent. But, apart from that, I want them to understand football well. It will take more or less time, but they’ll do fine.”

One week until the market closes: “I’m waiting to see if there is a good chance and we can take it.”
