Betis B manages a hard fought draw in their away match against Cabecense (1-1)

Marc Mas scored the goal for Betis off a penalty in the first few minutes of the match.

Betis B managed a hard fought draw (1-1) on their visit to the Club Deportivo Cabecense Stadium, fifth in the Group X league table of the Third Division, starting the match only three points away from the Green-and-Whites. Óscar Cano's squad took control of the match in the opening stages determined not to give the Red-and-Blacks a look in. In the 2nd minute Moyita gave a warning with his shot from a doubtful position which did not find the net. This was the prelude to a piece of play that resulted in a penalty being awarded to the team from Heliopolis. Again Moyita from the right wing centred into the heart of the area looking for Juanma, which culminated in him being brought down by a home defender before he was able to make contact with the ball. The referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. With Andriu sidelined for this match due to an accumulation of yellow cards it was Marc Mas who stepped up to take the penalty. He maintained his relationship with the goal that has lasted a few weeks putting the ball into the back of the net. Cabecense positioned themselves for a push on their rivals goal but a sound performance by the Betis B defence deprived them any incursion on their area. The Betis squad did manage to make advances on their opponents goal. This time it was Eneko, who after a good piece of individual play in the area sent his shot wide. Despite the home teams attempts to equalise the goal scored by Marc Mas, the scoreboard was not to move again in the first half.

Once again it was the team from Heliopolis who made the first incursion into the area with two centres from the right wing, but Moyita nor Marc Mas were able to connect with the team mates in attack. In the 52nd minute Salas tried his luck from in front of the area when he hammered a free kick but Montoya responded well. As the match progressed Betis B seemed to resit well the assault unleashed on them by Cabecense, who tried time and time again but were unable to find any spaces. For their part Óscar Cano's men tried to cause some damage with counterattacks. In the 77th minute Noé managed to control a rebound off the post by Álvaro and invented a shot which Jorge blocked with his hands when the crowd in the stands were already celebrating the goal. The referee signalled a penalty and gave the midfielder a direct red card for the infraction. Guti took the penalty and scored, 1-1. In the next piece of play the Cabecense full back, Francis, was shown his second yellow card of the match and once again both teams had equal forces on the field of play. Cano put Abeledo and Álvaro González on in an attempt to get more depth on the wings. However, the match came to an end with one point for each team, after an intense match in which both teams tirelessly fought to come away with the victory. As a result Betis B keep second place in the league table and will play at home against Ceuta in the next league match.
