Óscar Cano: “CD Anguiano exploit their resources to perfection”

“The lads have now got enough happiness back to accept the commitment we have to face up to”, affirmed the Heliopolitan coach.

The Betis B expedition journeys to La Rioja this Friday where they shall visit CD Anguiano in the first leg of the knockout round for promotion to the Second Division B. The rival who awaits them has not known defeat since the end of February and, as Óscar Cano pointed out, “has progressively multiplied” their effectiveness throughout the season. Furthermore, the green-and-white coach added that they are a team that "exploit their resources to perfection and from a morale point of view are having an extraordinary moment".

CD Anguiano: "They have progressively multiplied their effectiveness in what they do throughout the season. They combine vertical play with a style based more on ball possession. They exploit their resources to perfection and in terms of morale they are having an extraordinary moment. They grew with every match day that went by and their winning style was the result of the high level of demand they put on themselves when they compete”.

The knockout round with Peña Deportiva: “It was a very open round in either of the teams could have progressed. In the second leg, despite being outnumbered, they were able to support the pressure put on them by a strong rival”.

Group 16 is the only one to have all its teams still in the fight: “When we don't know the quality of the teams we often underestimate their potential. Fortunately, we respect everybody because we are aware of how difficult it is to win and be at the top of any category. All the teams that managed to get into the promotional play-offs are extremely dangerous”.

Dimensions of the pitch: “When the space is reduced contact multiplies. Nevertheless we will try to move the ball around with the necessary intelligence so as not to resort to physical play in excess”.

How is the team?: “The beginning of the week was tough. To take on board something you don't deserve is not easy, and even less so for such young lads. That is why those of us with more experience are here, to tell them that we are still in the fray and that we still have good options. The passing of the days has removed that negative sensation and the lads have now got enough happiness back to accept the commitment that we have to face up to”.
