Óscar Cano: “It is our last chance to put the finishing touches to a great season”

“We should be aware that the most important thing is not to concede a goal and bear in mind that we have 90 minutes ahead of us to score two or three goals”, affirms the green-and-white coach.

Betis B exercise for the last time today before the definitive match on Saturday against Orihuela CF. 90 match minutes will decide if the team is promoted to the Second Division B, an objective of this reserve team since they started their pre-season preparations. It is for this reason, despite the adverse result in the first leg match, that the team has conspired to achieve a comeback, that whist difficult is possible. To this end, Óscar Cano highlights the need to “not concede” a goal and to avoid precipitating events, without anxiety, “in the understanding that we have thousands of people who are supporting us from the stand so that we do not fall and for us to be confident”.

The first leg match: “The match was not fair given the run of play and the scoring opportunities that the lads created. We were distracted on a couple of occasions and we have had to pay a very high price against teams of this ilk. They have a clear tendency to play according to these kinds of references and that will make these quality footballers react. They always play with a lot of players behind the ball and this makes it difficult to create any danger, curiously their goalkeeper made five or six great saves including a penalty”.

A demonstration of Orihuela CF's potential: “They had few offensive moves and gained an unjust advantage. But that is football, it doesn't understand logic even the illogical ones. That is why it's so popular, because of its uncertainty. Nothing is linear or stable in this game”.

The feelings of the team: “The lads may be young but they're not dumb. They know where they went wrong, but they are also aware of how they played and the opportunities that they created. This makes them optimistic about making a comeback”.

Do you think a comeback is possible?: “Of course. If anyone didn't believe that it would be better for them to go on holiday now. It's our last chance to put the finishing touches to a great season”.

Are you going to make any changes?: “There will be some but nothing significant because the match at Orihuela proved that Betis B did almost everything right”.

The importance of not rushing things: “We should be aware that the most important thing is not to concede a goal and bear in mind that we have 90 minutes ahead of us to score two or three goals. Without anxiety, in the understanding that we have thousands of people who are supporting us from the stand so that we do not fall for us to be confident”.

Message to the fans: “We have no need to send any messages to our fans. Their supporters passed from generation to generation, it is almost a way of life, called a passion for Betis. They're going to be behind us and my only hope is at the end of the match they are proud of these young players”.

Isaac, sidelined because of yellow card accumulation

Moreover, Óscar Cano will list all of the available players and will publish a final selection just before the beginning of the match as is his custom in home matches for Betis B. However, Ignacio Abeledo, Fausto Tienza, Jorge Muñoz, Marco Rosa and Andriu are not available because of injury; to which we must include the sidelining of Isaac because of yellow card accumulation.
